A new version of The Master Genealogist?

Wholly Genes have just released a free beta version of The Master Genealogist, version 8. TMG is genealogy software that I've never got into. Those who do swear by it, other discouraged by its real or reputed steep learning curve swear at it.

If your tempted now would be a good time to try it. The beta version will expire in 30 days.  Find it at http://goo.gl/6GKLV

This comment is about the following paragraph in this post:

"If your tempted now would be a good time to try it. The beta version will expire in 30 days. Find it at http://goo.gl/6GKLV"

I suggest that a reading of the web page at the above link shows that the beta version is intended for persons who are already users of TMG. Note the following near the end of that page:

"The TMG v8 Public Beta is not appropriate for everyone. To obtain this download, you must agree to:
Submit TMG v8 beta bug reports to v8beta@whollygenes.com and through no other channel.
Make a backup of your data according to the instructions above and DO NOT upgrade your only copy of that project to TMG v8.
Do not enter or import data into the TMG v8 public beta with the expectation that it will necessarily survive the upload to the full public release of TMG v8.
This public beta will expire in 30 days and will thereafter be read-only unless you purchase the product or upgrade."

To try TMG, instead of using the v8 beta, use the well seasoned v7. Go to
http://www.whollygenes.com/
and on the first screen of the resulting web page see
"Download a 30-Day Free Trial"
