Book notice: Genealogy - Essential Research Methods

BIFHSGO members will remember Helen Osborn, a London-based professional genealogist, who spoke at the 2011 BIFHSGO conference. Her talk "Round About a Pound a Week" is one that people mention to me from that event as memorable. Helen's company Pharos Tutors provides online genealogy instruction.

At last year's conference Helen mentioned she was working on a book. It's now available for pre-publication order. Genealogy: Essential Research Methods is advertised as "the ideal companion for anybody researching their family tree. It provides advice and inspiration on methods and problem-solving and helps the amateur family historian understand what successful professionals do to get results, and why we should copy them."
