Today, 1 September 2009, marks the centennial of a fire at the Ontario Legislature, then called Parliament. While it was at first thought the provincial archives collection was severely damaged the damage there turned out to be less extensive than first feared. The Parliamantary Library suffered major losses estimated at $250,000.
