This appealingly presented non-genealogical talk under the title "Catch-up history and the Cold War" by Professor Peter Hennessy, Attlee Professor of Contemporary British History, Queen Mary, London University, and author of a new edition of The Secret State, peers into the part of the post-war British state kept under wraps for the duration of the Cold War. The presentation to The Friends of The National Archives, in July, coincided with the release of the new edition.
