5 April 2011 is the scheduled release date for the full 1911 census of Scotland at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. It is scheduled to go online at 6am EDT.
Unlike the release for England and Wales, the original household schedules have not survived so it is the enumerators' returns, similar to those for previous censuses, that will be available. The images are in colour, and each record is across two pages to accommodate increased information, on years of marriage, number of children born and number surviving.
The cost of credits at Scotland's People is increased just in time for this release. It now costs £7 for 30 credits, and costs one credit to search, five credits for a census image. However, the period of validity has been increased.
