LAC: New Version of the Immigrants to Canada Database

The following is an announcement from Library and Archives Canada.
Ottawa, June 30, 2011 - Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is pleased to announce the release of a new version of the online database Immigrants to Canada. To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Red River Colony (or Selkirk Settlement) in Manitoba, more than 4,000 references to names of settlers found in the Thomas Douglas, Earl of Selkirk fonds (MG 19 E1) have been added to the existing database. Many staff members contributed to the success of this project, and their efforts are much appreciated.
