A few suggestions from a beginning user of ScotlandsPeople:
ReplyDelete1. At first don't click a location in the list in this post. Instead click "click here" and read the instructions and work through the example.
2. To view the census street lists one does not need to be registered with ScotlandsPeople, but to follow on with the advanced search of the census one needs a user name and password.
3. In the Advanced Search of the census, the number to enter after "numdist" is the the number found in the census street list under the column headed "No. of Enumeration Book" BUT it must be a three digit number. Enter 29 as 029.
