Closing doors on Canada's history

Well known Ottawa writer Valerie Knowles adds her voice to those in opposition to the federal government's treatment of its own libraries and archives. She calls for the policies in effect at Library and Archives Canada to be altered to protect Canada’s knowledge base and heritage.

Another excellent commentary on the slow-motion train wreck in federal government libraries - this one from a knowledgeable end user, the people who are often forgotten in this mess. As Valerie Knowles points out so well, Canadians, yes even taxpayers, are the real losers when government policies are not based on factual, documentary evidence and rezsearch.

Keep up the good work of keeping this travesty in library and information policy in the public eye, John
