I've enjoyed the first two of Carleton University's Shannon lectures this year on Grub and Grog: food and drink in history.

the topic is Adventures in Cooking from the Past to be given by Ken Albala, Department of History, University of the Pacific. he will discuss experiments in historic cooking including fermentation, curing meat, cheese making, and distillation.
