1,000 Kingston region families genealogy

An announcement from the Queen’s University Archives arrived regarding the digitization of the Dr. Herbert Clarence Burleigh fonds .

"Research amassed by Dr. Burleigh on approximately 1,000 families, who have roots in the Kingston region, is now available on-line. Through our Genealogy page, researchers will be able to access an alphabetical list of individual family names, whose live link will then reveal as many as 800 pages per folder containing information relating to both family members and the area in which they resided."

A quick look shows newspaper clippings, hand-drawn family trees, letters, cemetery plot transcriptions, family bible extracts and much more. The contents are page images, not digitally searchable. Find an alphabetic index to a list of file surnames at http://archives.queensu.ca/databases/genealogy/burleigh.html

A reminder, hopefully unnecessary, that finding this archival information does not absolve the researcher of verifying the research themselves.
