With a solid record of leadership in Quebec as both an administrator and academic even before he assumes the role today an improvement in morale has been evident among LAC staff.
He can be sure he has the goodwill of LAC's user community, who hope to be consulted on new directions being taken over the coming months, as he assumes leadership.
We should also express appreciation to Dr Hervé Déry who has served for more than a year as Acting Librarian and Archivist of Canada and managed to calm the turbulent waters left by his predecessor.
