Earlier this week Findmypast released 1.9 million records for criminals sourced from TNA. Now they've added over 1.4 million additional records including:
Over 625,000 records of convicts on prison hulks, 1824-1854 (HO 8)
Prison calendars from Newgate in London, 1782-1853 (HO 77)
Home Office criminal entry books, 1782-1871 (HO 13)
Over 140,000 additional Metropolitan Police habitual criminal records (MEPO 6)

Thanks for the clarification! I did a search earlier in the week, and found a "refusal of application" note for my husband's gggg-grandfather, but neither the scan nor the transcription made it clear exactly what I was looking at. I now realize it was a record of a letter sent from the Home Office to the solicitor who had filed the failed application. Very helpful!
