Ancestry adds Alberta and Quebec "Web" Databases

In addition to databases fully hosted at its site Ancestry's Web databases "summarize basic information from freely-available Web records and provide a link to the original site where you can view the full record, including any associated images."

Two new Canadian web databases have been added recently.

Web: Alberta, Index to Cemeteries, 1823-2013 contains 174,244 records from the Alberta Family Histories Society. http://www.afhs.ab.ca/data/cemeteries/search.php: Ancestry lists the database as accessed 27 October 2014, the delay in publication perhaps explains why the AFHS site claims more records, "almost 197,000."

Web: Quebec, Canada, Marriage Contract Index, 1761-1941 contains 71,098 records sourced from Bibliothèque et Archives Nationales du QuĂ©bec (BAnQ). The source information provided is http://www.banq.qc.ca/archives/genealogie_histoire_familiale/, in French. Ancestry indicates it was "accessed 24 August 2014", over a year ago!
