Comics

Alter Ego: Comics and Canadian Identity, an exhibit opening on May 12 at Library and Archives Canada, set me thinking about the comics I read and traded as a kid in England.

The Beano is still going strong under the proprietorship of DC Thomson, which is the parent of Findmypast and the British Newspaper Archive.

The Dandy ceased print publication in 2012 but still appears online, again a DC Thomson property.

The Eagle had a more educational ambition, but not as much as the non-comic The Children's Newspaper. Bother are defunct.
