Keep Calm and Carry On

What with BREXIT and England losing to Iceland at football (the sport where you use your feet, not your hands) was there ever a better recent time to revisit an iconic British poster?

This History Blog post tells the story of the poster that almost never saw the light of day.

An on-the-ground in the UK comment: Oh, if you only knew--news broadcast after news broadcast it gets worse. Sometimes so-called "democracy" is not such a good idea after all.

I howled over a John Crace column from yesterday's Guardian I read over coffee this a.m. about Corbyn's press conference:

"One way of showing you are going nowhere is to go nowhere. Which is why Jeremy Corbyn had invited the Sky TV cameras to film him glueing himself to his seat at the meeting of Labour's Shadow Cabinet. Within seconds - though still far too late - Corbyn had begun to have second thoughts. "This feels like a bad idea," he muttered. Recording a group therapy session in a psychiatric institution seldom is."

In many ways it's all just too comical for words.
