After the Great War of 1914-19 some bereaved families erected private memorials to their loved ones on the battlefields of France and Flanders. This guide is to help visitors find these memorials, and to tell the story of each one.
They include memorials to Cedric Dickens, a grandson of Charles Dickens, and Francis Dodgson, said to be "kin" to Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson).
