Hi
ReplyDeleteGood thing you posted about the Home Children webinar happening on the 12 or else I would not know about it. Ancestry's Facebook page makes no mention of it and I wasted a lot of time on that page looking for it. Really, it should be the first or second thing that comes up when you go to the page, AND, there is no place to even leave a comment. Thanks again.
My grandfather, Henry Likely Bustard, (1878-1963) joined the Northwest Mounted Police in Regina Saskatchewan, and went to the Yukon in 1899. He would doubtless have met or seen the likes of Mr. Trump. Born in County Fermanagh, Ireland, he had seen the effects of excessive drinking in his family, likely due to depression. So, he was a teetotaler. I do have photos of him smoking cigars. In a recreated bar in Skagway, Alaska, I saw that they sold cigars, so that may have been where he began this occasional cigar smoking pastime.
