One of the most frequently asked questions at the City of Ottawa Archives is regarding researching the history of a property.
Now the archives have a useful 23-page research guide available free at https://documents.ottawa.ca/sites/documents/files/Tracing%20Historical%20Properties_en_0.pdf
After the introductory material, it covers land records, by-laws and minutes, directories, voters lists, assessment and collector rolls, maps and plans, architectural and construction records, newspapers, photographs and manuscripts.
This would be a most worthwhile resource to consult before venturing to research property at the City Archives. While other resource locations are touched on the guide would be of greater value if it gave them greater attention, especially the Ottawa Public Library which is only mentioned once.
