YouTube: City of Westminster Parish Records on Ancestry
Having taken advantage of a rainy day to take a closer look at the Church of England Parish Records made available on Ancestry on 30 July 2020 for the City of Westminister here's a quick video overview of what's available.
Enjoyed your presentation on the Westminster records. I searched the marriage record for Sir John A Macdonald and Susan Bernard in 1867 -- they were married on February 16 at the Church of St. George's, Hanover Square, by "special license". Sir John's occupation ... Honourable. He was in London to negotiate the British North America Act which would come into effect on July 1. Two auspicious occasions!
Exciting! I have an FMP sub as well, so have used the records, but being able to link them directly in my Ancestry tree will be a definite bonus. And for those records I haven't found via the Search in FMP, I'm hoping that the indexing at Ancestry is different and will lead me to new finds.
