history SCOTLAND

Here's another magazine available through your public library (certainly Ottawa's), this through RBDigital Reader.

The contents include a profile of the website womenofscotland.org.uk; a one-pager on baby names (the 2020 most popular names have not yet been announced); a history of how Scottish settlers in Cape Breton, themselves displaced, displaced Mi'kmaq; and another one-pager on how to research agricultural ancestors.

  1. Interesting John, about Cape Bretoners misplacing the Mikmak. Ths year I decided to tell my late husband's grandkids about their Cape Breton Grannie's family history. That was about his first wife's Scottish family, originally from the Outer Hebrides.

They, in their turn, later misplaced aboriginal New Zealanders when they followed their charismatic Scottish preacher, the Reverend Norman McLeod, to Waipu on the NZ north island. Cheers, BT
