The launch for "Charlotte: The Last Suffragette", the biography of Charlotte Whitton by local historian author and former journalist Dave Mullington will occur in Exhibit A, off the main foyer of Library and Archives Canada, on Wednesday, September 8, starting at 7 p.m.
The evening is being hosted by the Friends of Library and Archives Canada. All are welcome.
There's an article on the book by Ottawa Citizen writer Kelly Egan here.
Dave will also have copies of the book, and likely his previous book, Chain of Office on the pre-1948 mayors of Ottawa in the marketplace at the BIFHSGO conference, 10-12 September, also at Library and Archives Canada.
Even if you're not registering for the conference you're welcome to stop by, and buy, at the marketplace. There will be a wide range of vendors, and the marketplace is accessible to all without charge.
For those not able to get to Ottawa the book will be available online from General Store Publishing House in Renfrew at: www.gsph.com.
