Wednesday evening saw the launch of Dave Mullington's latest book, Charlotte: the last suffragette in a crowded Exhibition Room A at Library and Archives Canada. After a brief introduction Dave told some anecdotes about Charlotte – former Ottawa mayor Charlotte Whitton – and then recounted her life in brief.
Following questions there was a wine and cheese reception organized by the Friends of Library and Archives Canada while Dave busied himself signing copies, available from the publisher, General Store Publishing House at http://bit.ly/92ZIpl
I started reading the book when I got home late and was quickly drawn into the book by Dave's easy writing style.
My late return was due to a detour to see the impressive sound and light show on Parliament Hill, well worth a visit if you can catch it before it ends on Sunday. It starts at 9:30pm.
