The following is an announcement from Library and Archives Canada.
Signatures Series: Secrets of Canada’s Archives
Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is launching a brand new series of public interviews that will offer a further glimpse into the secrets housed in the National Archives.
Hosted by Dr. Guy Berthiaume, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, the Signatures Series will feature original interviews with individuals who will provide insights into parts of the collection, either because they have donated archives to LAC or are experts about it.
To commence the series, the audience will hear from Sarah Jennings, an arts journalist and author, who is well-known in the Ottawa region. Expect to hear confidences and revelations about the intriguing relationship between politics and the arts, and stories from the archives she donated; the latter include research documents and some 100 interviews on the history of the National Arts Centre (NAC).
The Signatures Series begins on Monday, January 25, at 12:15 p.m., in the magnificent second-floor room (home to works of well-known Canadian artist, Alfred Pellan) of the LAC building at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa. Those interested in attending this free public event should register with bac.marketing.lac@canada.ca.
