Celia Lewis wrote to tell me he will be in Vancouver (Burnaby, actually) on 30 April presenting four workshops for the British Columbia Genealogical Society on intermediate tips and techniques for researching our ancestors from Ireland and Scotland.
Find out more here. Definitely recommended if you're in the Vancouver genealogical catchment area.
As mentioned back in November, Chris is also speaking the
previous Saturday, 23 April in an event at Qualicom Beach where he is joined by Colleen Fitzpatrick. Find out more about that opportunity here.
You can read some nice things Chris said about Canadian genealogists (special mention of OGS and BIFHSGO) in his article "Don't ignore the diaspora!" in the January issue of Family Tree (UK), pp. 10-15.

ReplyDeleteThanks John. The schedule is actually a wee bit wider than that, I've just posted it at http://britishgenes.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/my-vancouver-island-and-british.html - I'll be doing talks also at Nanaimo and Vernon.
ReplyDeleteLinda - glad you enjoyed the article! :)
