Five new books on the Genealogist's Reference Shelf

Looking for a present for a genealogist? The OGS/Dundurn Genealogist's Reference Series has five books which wouldn't have been a gift last year as they all have a 2010 publication date. In alphabetical order by author:

Conserving, Preserving, and Restoring Your Heritage
A Professional's Advice
By Kennis Kim

Genealogical Standards of Evidence
A Guide for Family Historians
By Brenda Dougall Merriman

Crime and Punishment in Upper Canada
A Researcher's Guide
By Janice Nickerson

Genealogy and the Law in Canada
By Dr. Margaret Ann Wilkinson

Publish Your Family History
Preserving Your Heritage in a Book
By Greg Ioannou and Susan Yates

They each be ordered from the Ontario Genealogical Society or Dundurn Press at the cover price of $19.99, or at a substantial discount from amazon.ca and chapters/indigo.ca.

I'll be reviewing at least some of them on the blog as other things permit. Keep coming back, or sign up for email notifications of all blog postings or the RSS feed.

I had them at the BIFSGHO Fall Conference and will likely have a stock for Gene-O-Rama on 1-2 April as well.

John, I just want to let your readers know that I have written a book review on Janice Nickerson’s book, “Crime and Punishment in Upper Canada: A Researcher's Guide”, and it will appear in the January/February 2011 edition of “Family Chronicle” magazine.

Thank you.
