Feeling an education gap? Interested to learn about the professional world of genealogy? Would you like to attend a conference presentation or two, but don't fancy the time commitment and expense of jumping on a plane? The (US) Association of Professional Genealogists has an attractive option. In a trial partnership with FamilySearch, APG is making available eight presentations from the 2009 and 2010 APG Professional Management Conferences. They're free and online.
The lectures are:
A Key to Success: Your Online Presence - D. Joshua Taylor
Expand Your Revenue: Produce and Sell Your Lectures in Video Format - Donna M. Moughty
Niche Planning and Marketing - Paula Stuart Warren
Choosing the Best Continuing Education Opportunities - Elissa Scalise Powell, CG
Get Published in Magazines! - Leslie Albrecht Huber
Bull's Eye! Planning and Delivering a Winning Mark by Heather Henderson
The Bachelor: Reconstructing a Solitary Life Using Obscure & Far-Flung Records by Mary Penner
Get Paid for Your Passion: Becoming a Professional Genealogist by Elissa Scalise Powell, CG
The Association of Professional Genealogists doesn't use the qualifying term US. Be aware that APG is very largely US oriented and the focus in these lectures is the US situation. That should not deter you from dipping into this pot of goodies as there's content that is more widely applicable.
