Remembering Canada's War Dead

The names of 68,000 Canadian First World War dead will be projected in sequence, one by one, in the centre of Ypres overnight from November 4 - 11. I have witnessed and been moved by a similar act of remembrance at the National War Memorial in Ottawa.

For those of us not able to get to Ypres, a journey I commend to anyone who's ancestor served, the vigil will be streamed live at www.1914-1918.ca and at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa.

Thanks for the information about Ypres and the Canadian schools project. I had even "forgotten" about viewing the names at the National War Memorial. It was an exciting moment to see my ancestor's name at that event and again just now on the computer.
