Among the events listed at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa for the rest of the year is a
Ancestry Military History Day Seminar on Sunday 3 May.
Leading up to the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Holland (4 May) and Victory in Europe (8 May), Beechwood, Ancestry.ca and BIFHSGO are (intending to?) offer an introductory genealogy workshop that teaches participants how to research ancestors (and others) through military records and how to create a family tree.
Covered will be how to access service files and consult various digitized resources such as war diaries and burial records to learn about the context of an individual's service.
Beechwood will be leading a historical military walking tour to get up and walking around before lunch.
Registration opening soon. The registration fee covers the cost of the catered lunch.
