Ancestry adds Perth and Kinross, Scotland, Electoral Registers, 1832-1961

2,464,817 records is nothing to sneeze at, especially for two ancient Scottish counties with barely 200,000 population combined.

Electoral registers will list an eligible voter’s name and address, with occupation, qualifications for voting, and a place where the property that qualified a voter is located for the earlier years when the franchise was restricted.

Less than 5% of the entries are pre-1900 with no Kinross-shire records before 1899.

More than 90% are after 1920 when the counties were combined. If an address is given it's simple to confirm continuation of occupancy year after year.

As these records were extracted using OCR indexing expect errors. Spaces may be missed so a middle initial may be concatenated with the first and/or last name.
