This Friday, August 14, 2015, at 7 pm the Pinhey’s Point Foundation continues an active summer program with a free public lecture by Sandra Campbell who will discuss the life and overseas military career of Kingston General Hospital-trained nurse Annie Green (1882-1929) . Green served as a military nurse in hospitals in England and Wales in the latter stages of World War I, experiencing not only the flood of battlefield casualties invalided to England but also the
Kinmel Camp Riots by Canadian soldiers in Wales at the end of the war.
Sandra Campbell, a retired professor from the Pauline Jewett Institute of Women's And Gender Studies at Carleton University, will use a rich and dramatic collection of photographs, letters and souvenir albums held at Queen's University Archives.
