Over 1 million additions to the Prisoners of War 1715-1945 collection cover The Napoleonic Wars and World War 2 and include prison camps in Europe, Africa and The Far East and list nationalities from around the globe.
I examined a few records, both partial transcripts and images of originals are available, and found the information to be from lists. Searching Marman there were four entries for T Marman together giving name, rank, regiment and serial number and that he died. If you find someone of interest follow up searching the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site, if they died, Google the name and look for family trees. There was comprehensive information on a Public Tree on Ancestry, just be sure to verify that type of information.
You will find mystery references such as the number for a prison camp. To follow those up strat out by checking out the file The National Archives POW Archival Reference List.
