Looking for information to add context to camping activity by a family member. The October issue of Trent University Archives News (pdf) is mostly dedicated to camping.
Trent is the depository for the records of the Ontario Camping Association (now called Ontario
Camps Association), the Canadian Camping Association, and the Society of Camp Directors.
"The finding aids to these archival holdings are located on our website. Associated with these records is a collection of promotional brochures issued by various camps, and numerous pamphlets and books.
These items are all located in the Archives. The books have been catalogued as a Special Collection and appear on TOPCAT, the library catalogue, with the designation "CP". We also
preserve a complete collection of OCAsional News and Canadian Camping Magazine.
The archival holdings date from 1904 to the present and include photographs, pamphlets and brochures, correspondence, minutes of meetings, standards records, camp manuals, articles and reports, and audio and video tapes. Individual camps also participate directly in preserving their own archival materials."
