At 11 minutes past 11 am on the 11th of November the name Pte Edwin Booth, killed June 5 1916 near Ypres was posted @WeAreTheDead a Twitter account created by the Ottawa Citizen as an ongoing remembrance project.
By 5:20 pm Citizen journalist Glen McGregor had posted a comprehensive biography Soldier emigrated from Cheshire, died with Saskatchewan regiment in the terror of Belgium's trenches. Online volunteers helped “crowdsource” the research for the story.
Every hour of every day, @WeAreTheDead tweets out the name of one Canadian killed in service.
