Hot on the heels of the Nova Scotia birth index MyHeritage now has information on marriages, a total of 520,478 records.
"During the years 1763-1864 the collection contains marriage bonds, which represented a marriage without taking out a license, and was the early practice in the province until 1864 when civil registration became mandatory. While it was mandatory to register your civil marriage, it was not universal throughout Nova Scotia until the early 20th century. When available you will also find the registration information, that can be helpful when looking for the original marriage certificate."
As with the births, this is information from the Nova Scotia Archives now conveniently available to MyHeritage subscribers.
