TNA Podcast: Family history resources at The National Archives

Gerry Toop, a TNA Reader Adviser, provides an introduction to the main sources for family history research available via The National Archives website. Topics covered include the online catalogue, online resources (including licence associates) and Documents Online, and the research signposts.

Toop emphasises not entering information in too many search boxes -- "less is more".

He uses the external version of the website, not the one accessed when at TNA, so you can open your browser to the site and following along with the presentation.

Although the presentation was given on 10 June 2010 the website is much the same as it was then.

The podcast is well worth a listen, or even two listens for a beginner!
