Last Monday`s Ottawa Citizen column by Phil Jenkins http://goo.gl/yRTu0 sees him walking along Wellington Street, not the part that passes the Parliament building and Library and Archives Canada, but the westward extension.
Along the way he encounters the plaque on the former St George`s home where many Catholic home children temporarily laid their heads after arriving in Canada before being distributed to their destinations as child labourers. The article includes a welcome mention to the BIFHSGO book British Home Children: Their Stories available from Global Genealogy, http://goo.gl/datmj
Phil will be the Don Whiteside lecturer on September 16 at the start of the 17th annual BIFHSGO conference.
