WWI Scottish Pensions Appeals Cataloguing

The Annual Report and Accounts 2018-19 for the National Records of Scotland mentions an "untapped resource for genealogists and researchers investigating those who fought in the First World War."

The records are of pension appeal applications of 30,000 Scottish ex-servicemen who were injured or later died from associated illnesses and conditions, revealing their wartime and postwar experiences

The project, funded by the Wellcome Trust, has reached the halfway point. You'll need to be patient as the records remain closed for the duration of the project.
