Norfolk Online Access to Heritage

Those of us with Norfolk ancestors are fortunate to have superior online genealogical resources, such as FamilySearch original record images mentioned recently here.

Norfolk researchers also have a single search interface from Cultural Services at Norfolk County Council, the Norfolk Online Access to Heritage.   Specify a search and it queries a variety of sources from the Library Service, The Norfolk Record Office and Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service returning a list of hits found in the various collections. They include catalogue entries, maps, aerial photographs, probate listings and, directory images.  A complete list of data sources is at

A database I found particularly useful includes original images of wills proved and letters of administration granted in the period 1800-1858 in the courts of the Bishop of Norwich (the Consistory Court), the Archdeacons of Norfolk and Norwich and the Dean and Chapter of Norwich.
