From the newsletter of The Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, School of Family History, comes information on a free archive of over 15, 000 recordings of stories, poems and songs in Doric, Gaelic and Scots. There's a clickable map for you to select an area of "North Britain" of interest.
These are recordings made in the field, often with a rustic quality.

I can see this being very useful for many school projects. I like how some stories are less than a minute in length. What an worthwhile effort! MAS
It's easy to spend a good hour on this site, without even realizing it. This is definitely a way to access the past without reading, only listening.
