Individual genealogy and family history societies often have local indexing projects which can be found through their web site. OGS for instance has

John, Ottawa Branch is working to index ALL the family histories in the Branch Library on Tallwood. Currently we've done 113 of the 472 family histories; that does not include any from the recent merger with the BIFHSGO Library. We are also working on adding into TONI many of our own publications, which are now available through Global Genealogy.

There are a number of items being done at the provincial level, including the family histories in the Provincial Library. Several tasks, at both Ottawa and for The Society can be done from home.

Or let us know what you would like to index.
