An article on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website looks back at Canadian's actions that ended the Third Battle of Ypres.
For the period 26 October to 11 November 1917, the Canadian Corps recorded casualties of more than 12,400 of whom some 4,014 were killed on the battlefield. 58 per cent of those were not identified (the red part of the daily bar) and are commemorated on the Menin Gate at Ypres.
The most costly days were 26 October, 30 October, 6 November, and 10 November.
18,287 CWGC deaths are recorded during the same period, 12,319 of them while serving with UK forces.
