Crap Towns

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So is crap. How about towns; is your British ancestral town deserving of a place on the list of worst places to live in Britain?

An article in The Guardian at http://goo.gl/0Tybu includes the following nominations: Alresford, Belfast, Blackpool, Brighton, Burnham Market, Bury St Edmunds, Chipping Norton,  Gateshead, Glastonbury, Liverpool, London (with special mention of Hackney), Luton, all the Medway Towns, Merthyr Tydfil, Morecambe, Newquay, Oxford, Slough, Stratford-upon-Avon, York, and Woodstock for the list of crappy towns of Britain.

A serious oversight; there are none in Scotland!

Any nominations for a similar list for Canada?

None in Scotland? The link leads us to the list, which is headed by Aberdeen and includes Dundee and Kilmarnock, among others!

Frankly, doesn't this go under the same category as those web sites of "Worst Songs" (which always include at least a couple of my personal favourites)? Highly subjective and suspect? (Also great fun to argue over...)

Of course there are none in Scotland! Not sure how much I agree with this list. Stratford on Avon is picturesque. London is almost as amazing and vibrant as Edinburgh. Yes, very subjective and likely compiled by an Irishman!
