Monarchist or not, let's all salute the achievement of Queen Elizabeth II who becomes our longest serving monarch today, 9 September.
For perspective, the Queen has been served by 11 Canadian Prime Ministers: Louis St. Laurent, John Diefenbaker, Lester B. Pearson, Pierre Trudeau, Joe Clark, John Turner, Brian Mulroney, Kim Campbell, Jean Chrétien, Paul Martin, Stephen Harper.
Let's also recognise the decades of service of Prince Phillip and of Prince Charles, our longest serving heir-apparent.

I hadn't thought about Charles being the longest heir-apparent but I checked and he's served 7 years longer than Edward served under Victoria.
