A few years ago this blog had a posting on the defunct Canadian Federation of Genealogical and Family History Societies, with an informative comment by Brenda Dougall Merriman.
Now information on two other, and similarly defunct, Canadian genealogical societies has emerged.
In a response to a recent posting J. Brian Gilchrist mentioned the "Imperial Genealogical Society" operating in Hamilton in the 1950's for which he has a sheet of their letterhead.
The 23 September 1950 issue of the Ottawa Citizen reports the death of Rev Henri Morriseau, archivist of the University of Ottawa and "one of the founders of the local branch of the Canadian Genealogical Society."
